1st af after mc?
... is it just like a normal AF or lighter/heavier? Maybe TMI but since Saturday I've had blood stained discharge - just a very very pale pink really not actual blood. Could this be my first AF or something else? I was just wondering for working out CD, not that I'm ready to TTC again yet. Any advice appreciated

Hi Mel Unfortunately I think this is one of those with no hard and fast rule - seems to be different for everyone. For me my 1st af after m/c came around 5 weeks later and was a bit lighter and a bit less painful than it had been before. It can take a while for the body to settle but may be worth seeing your gp if you're worried? Hope you're feeling ok Minni x

Hi Mel Like Minni says, it varies from person to person. I miscarried in September. My AF arrived exactly 4 weeks later and I seem to recall it was heavier and it certainly lasted longer. Today I'm on CD30. Prior to miscarriage my cycle has never gone past 30 days but it looks as if it's heading that way - no sign yet. I know of others who have said their first cycle after m/c was longer... How long since your miscarriage? If it's been about or month or longer then it could well be AF.

Thanks Minni, It's 5 weeks for me today so it would be about the right time. It feels like 5 months ago though. Maybe this is just a prelude to the real thing? I'm feeling much better about it now, more resigned and coming to terms with it. Feeling a lot more human and living in the real world again. Thanks for your advice I might go see the gp - have a few questions to ask her about the histology results anyway. There weren't any abnormalities in the foetus so I'm wondering if there could have been something physical - like damage to cervix when DD was born. Probably not, I assume that if there was it would only cause a problem later on but worth putting my mind at rest before trying again. Thanks again for the advice

Hi Mel I was told (after my ERPC) that I would have a follow up apointment approximately 6 weeks later and that the 'pregnancy tissue' results would be back by then. I still haven't heard anything.....:-( I may give my GP a call if I still haven't heard anything by the end of the month.

Hi SarahS, How long has it been for you? I was given my results by GP 2 weeks ago - it was a complete shock as I'd gone in about something completely unrelated so I didn't ask all the questions I wanted to at the time. I'd give your GP a call. Maybe make a list of questions to ask. I hope it goes as well as it can. Take good care of yourself. Hugs

Hi Miscarriage was mid-September so well overdue. Will give the GP a call and make an appointment if I haven't heard anything by the end of the month. x
