Any other IVF'ers?
Hi, I'm new here. Part way through our first IVF journey. I just wondered if there were any others in the same situation on this forum? Thanks xxx

Linzi- 03-11-2008

I am not on the same journey hun but wanted to say Hi and welcome to the site, good luck with everything and keep us informed xxx

Rosie- 03-11-2008

Hi there. I don't think there are any 'active' posters on here that are going through IVF, though there are one or two on IUI and everyone's really helpful, so do share your story and concerns whenever you like! Best of luck. Rosie x

Hi OAJ, Firstly welcome to the forum, and secondly *puts her hand up* I am hurtling towards my first IVF attempt! I have been ttc now for 7 years (I have pcos) to no successful avail! Clomid did nothing but almost lead to divorce lol, so here I am awaiting my second appt to discuss IVF. I had an appt in September where they went through all the bumf with me and put me on the list, so in April I will have a review and hopefully be given a date, or at least an expectation of what will happen next. So what stage are you up to? Any tips? Looking forward to hear all about it! Thanks for joining us, Raq xxxxx

Hi All, Thanks for the replies. After trying to get pregnant naturally for over 2 years we decided to go to the doc for some -*test*-('")s. A bit more than a year of -*test*-('")s, lots of waiting, appointments and more -*test*-('")s and we've finally reached the stage we are at now. I have polycystic ovaries. My Husband has a low count. We have been referred to a specialist and I have just started the drugs for our first cycle of IVF. It's been hard going at times, just trying to keep cheerful when everyone around us seems to have babies, and they all become pregnant without even trying too hard. I'm feeling very positive about our ongoing journey at the moment :). I don't want to overthink it though (is it possible not to?)!

Oh how wonderful! I truly hope it all goes well for you! We had a lady on here that had twins following IVF maybe 6 months ago though she doesn't frequent the forum so much these days. If you can get chance, would you mind giving us an overview of the drugs and at which stages you take what in the run up to egg collection? There's a few of us on here who would be very interested to know more about this - particularly me as I may be going through it myself soon. Thanks a million! I'll keep everything crossed for you! Feel free to roam around the other forum sections too - there's a great bunch of girls on here who talk about anything and everything!!! xxxxxxx

Hi OAJ Welcome to our forum. I'm another IUIer on here. I have Polycycstic Ovaries (but not PCOS, just where my follicles containing the eggs don't mature enough to burst and ovulate). I so know how you feel about everyone else having babies or being pg, there are a few of first time TTCers on here who will totally empathise with you! my sil is pg and one of my closest school friends just told me yesterday that she's expecting number 2. I look forward to reading about your IVF journey and once again welcome to our little home! Kxx PS :goodluck: with the IVF!

Minni- 03-19-2008

Hi Welcome and hope everything goes ok! I was due to start IVF in Feb but it all went a bit pear shaped as they then discovered I've got fibroids and need to remove them before we can start IVF. So I don't know what you're going through yet but I know all the emotions of facing up to IVF and what you have to go through etc. I'm certainly a lot more clued up on infertility these days so will PM you with anything useful. Hoping it all works out for you! Minni x :goodluck:

Larmi- 03-24-2008
Hi and Welcome
Hiya, I recently had -*test*-('")s and found that tubes are partly blocked, so will need to have ivf. Tried to get on funding list but my bmi was above 30, so been dieting and now below 30 so reapplying, so should be starting in about year time. Keep praying for miracle but looks like ovf will be course of action as been trying for 3 years. Let me know how you get on. Love and best wishes Larmi
