Center Parcs Sherwood Forest?
We are off to Center Parcs Sherwood Forest a week on Monday with my parents. I'm looking forward to it - though have just had to ring up and cancel my bike and order a wheelchair instead which made me feel like a right numpty!
We've been to the CP in the Lakes once before but wondered if anyone had been to the Sherwood one and had any tips/recommendations - esp on activities for the little ones. Don't want to fork out for lots of extras if its not worth it - at the Lakes I paid for a "Tots Tunes" session for Erin and it was useless - about 10 mins in to the session the leader had run out of songs to sing!!!
xx
LOl at the song time! We have only ever been to the Lakes one and Ryan was only 5 months old so we got away with swimming then sitting in the pub LOL. Sorry I am useless.
Hi
we went to sherwood forest in Oct and loved it :)
We stayed near the aqua sana spa and were able to keep the car next to the appt all week. At the back of our appt was a river and we had ducks, swans, rabbits, squirrels all coming up to the patio door which Olivia loved.
We found a great play area down by the big boating lake that had the pancake house on it - Olivia loved it there - we couldnt get her off the big wooden tractor.
The only paid activities we did for Olivia was a soft play thing on the tuesday morning and there was only 3 other kids there so she got great use of all the equipment. The other activity we did that she loved was some craft thing - she did handand foot painting, crayoning, making and decorating a box and did hand and foot print into modelling clay.
Huckleberrys restaurant was manic most nights even though we got there at 5pm it was really busy. would def recommend booking if you intend to eat in the restaurants.
Oh we also did the kids swimming when it opened before the normal sessions - to be honest it wasnt worth it - olivia was more interested in doing her own thing and they got annoyed that she wouldnt join in the group singining and splashing.
Will try and remember when i get home tonight to post some pics from there so you can see the park and the activities etc. Dh is out tongith so it will be after 8pm before i manage to get the pics online.
Thanks Shona that would be fab. I've paid extra to pick our villa/lodge and we're staying in one right on the lake near the pancake house so sounds like it'll be handy for the play area!
Hadn't thought about booking restaurants - might look into that tonight then

Ooh, i love Centre parcs! We've booked to go to the Lakes one in November with our NCT pals! We went when our LOs were 18mths and now we've all had our 2nd babies within a year of each other too! There will be 10 adults; 5 x 3 year olds; and 5 x babies (6mths - 18mths). Bedlam, but can't wait!
Hope you have a good time - and with parents on board you can go and have spas / drinks and have them babysit!

Wow, sounds great!
KT how fab that you have all stayed in touch!!
We've been to Sherwood 3 times with Elliot and have not yet paid for any activities - although he's 18 months old (so younger than Erin).
We find with the outdoor play areas, indoor play areas, lovely walks and trips to the wildlife centre (with ponds and a hide) we've had plenty to do and although I've planned to do some of the 'stay and play' activities with him I've never got round to it! I personally think Sherwood is the most child friendly although I've never been to the other ones with Elliot, they were all before we had him so I might feel differently once we visit with Elliot (we're off to Longleat in May!)

Thanks everyone for the info - and thanks Shona for sharing your pics! Looks like you had a fab time - Erin will LOVE that play area! Really looking forward to going now
