Check up after ERPC
Hello everyone After my ERPC last week, I was advised that I would receive an appointment in about 6 weeks time for a check up and to discuss the results of the pregnancy tissue -*test*-('")ing. I understand that the -*test*-('") results won't tell us the reason for the miscarriage, only whether the pregnancy tissue was abnormal or not. Has anyone else had a check up following the procedure and if so, what did it involve? Just trying to get some idea of what I need to prepare myself for! Thanks. SarahS

Hey Sarah, How are you? I'm sorry i cant help with this - i wasn't offered anything like this at all after my evrpc - i literally had it done and they said ok "bye" so if you have any questions or anything that i think it's a great opportunity to ask everything. Take care. xx

Hi Girls Yes, I'm definately going to go for it - just have to wait for the appointment to arrive. I assume they will just do routine check of my tummy etc. We were also offered to make arrangements through the bereavement officer with regards to disposal of the pregnancy tisse. I thought this was very sensitive of them and I've heard a few stories of women who have - but at the time (and still even now) it's not something I could have coped with. The service provided by the NHS was very good and the staff (as usual) were excellent. However, at the end of the day, I also got a "Bye" with a web printout of how I might feel etc from the Miscarriage Association and to contact them if I needed any further emotional support. The end to a very traumatic day did seem a bit abrupt but only to be expected and ultimately you have to be pushed out into the real world sooner or later! SarahS

Hi Sarah Firstly i'm so sorry for your loss. I had an ERPC performed 3 weeks ago. I'm also awaiting the same results and was told to expect 6-8 weeks as it can take that long for the cells to replicate and the DNA work to be carried out. I was also advised that even with the best will in the world we might not get a result at all, as sometimes the -*test*-('")s aren't successful. Right now, I'm waiting AF followed by the -*test*-('") results and then we will decide what to do with our future. xx
