Come here all you mummys who work!!!
Hi there Workies (meaning mum's who also work) I work full-time and am also a full-time mum to my DD Elizabeth. It doesn't matter how many hours you work - you are always thinking about your children, no matter what. I had a full-year off maternity leave then went back to work last october Thought i'd kick this area off with a poll just to find out who else is in a similar situation. Best wishes to all, LisaB xx

Hi Lisa I work full time too but I consider myself lucky as I work in a school so I get the holiday to spend time with my dd. Sally B

Hi Lisa, I'm still on maternity leave at the moment but will be going back to work full-time in June (although wish I wasn't - can't bear to even think about leaving my little man at the moment!!) I may be needing some support then!!! However, the good part is that I'm a teacher so have only got to get through 7 weeks before the hols!

Hi there, I think the thought of going back to work is harder than the doing! I spent the last 6 months of my maternity leave dreading the day i had to go back. But once i did it and saw how happy Elizabeth was at nursery then it wasn't so bad. I still wish things were different of course but this is the real world unfortunately and i'm the main earner at the mo so needs must. Having said that i want to set an example to Elizabeth as i want her to do well for herself in whatever career she choses and be an independant woman supporting herself also. Lucky you re teaching and holidays. My OH is starting a GTP placement in September. He's going to teach secondary school chemistry. Ultimately when he is qualified and moving up the ladder and we hopefully will have another child then i hope to go part-time. Finger's crossed!! LisaBxx

He'll be in demand then!
:wow: there is a shortage of secondary chemistry teachers and physics teachers! I work in a school too and my husband is a science teacher. The holidays are great, but you need that time to get over the stress of the term, and to plan for new curriculums. My husband doesn't switch off from work during holidays.

Hi there, We are prepared for the next 2 years to be very busy and very strapped for cash while Rob re-trains and does his NQT year. It's good to know that science teachers are in demand though. Makes job security better. Rob is a pretty calm person so i think he'll take it all in his stride. I keep asking him though is he sure about it but as he says it's something he's wanted to do for a long time so not just a whim as it were! :happyspin: LisaBx
