Diabetes Clinic appt
So I got a phone call from the nurse at the diabetes clinic where I have been referred to today, and I have to go in next thursday to see her.
She said she will go through my diet and what I can and cant eat, and also show me how to use the blood sugar monitor, oh joy! just call me Mrs pin cushion, I have had so many blood -*test*-('")s already and now have to prick my finger hopefully just once a day but oh man.
Being positive though and thankfully at the moment its not at a level where I need insulin every day, but she said if we dont monitor it, it could get to that stage.
I asked what I should be doing between now and then, and she said just cut back on any obvious sugars, and drink plain liquids, no juices or pop! There goes my apple juice craving!!!
I was also speaking with a friend today at mums and tots, whos little girl nearly died when she was born, because they didnt detect that the mum had gest diabetes and her lil girls blood sugars were so low. Shes doing ok now, but still has to go to the hospital for checkups and may well have probs. SO I am taking this very seriously and trying to be very good!

I guess it's stories like your friends that remind us it's not soo bad to be careful in the whole scheme of things! Hope it's not too restrictive and it's good that they are keeping a close eye on you now x
