Dublin hotels?
Anyone who has been to Dublin, where did you stay?
I am taking DH as a surprise birthday present. Flights are booked but I am now looking for a hotel. Looking for one in the city centre (not getting a car as we will only be there for a weekend).
Anyone any suggestions?
I have been to Dublin before, but in my student days, so didn't stay at the nicest of places!
you could try looking on laterooms.com for some good deals at some top hotels. Make sure you get a hotel in the Temple Bar district (centre for shopping/bars/restaurants etc)

I've found loads on the internet, I was just wondering if anyone had any recomendations.
Thanks for the tip about Temple Bar district, at least now I will know what area I am looking for!
Like you I've only stayed in 'dubious' places when I've been to Dublin on rugby weekends in my youth!!! So Sorry can't recommend specifics. Hope you find somewhere fab.

I have stayed twice in the North Star which is just across the river from the Temple Bar area - an easy walk. All Dublin hotels are expensive, and this was one of the cheaper ones and I would say it was reasonable value for money (for Dublin!) - the executive rooms (or whatever they called them) were quite a lot nicer than the ordinary ones. This was a couple of years ago.
If you're wanting proper posh, I'd look elsewhere, but IMO the North Star was clean, fairly smart with a decent breakfast, without breaking the bank.
Your lucky DH - Dublin is FAB!
Thanks Rosie, I'll take a look at it. I'm look for roughly £100 a night, but don't think I will get much for that in Dublin!
Morrison Hotel, Dublin although it might be a bit above your budget (I stayed there on expenses so wasn't paying for it myself). It does get a few poor reviews on trip advisor though so maybe nowadays it's not worth the money. The Dylan Hotel get's ranked number 1 in Dublin on trip advisor so probably worth a look.
They Dylan hotel looks lovely, but is WAY over my price range!
Will take a look at the Morrison, thanks!
Blooms Hotel, Temple Bar! The VAT House (the pub part) serves the best guinness! Lovely place, modern, trendy, and in the heart of everything.

I went to Dublin for my best mates hen weekend a few years ago.
We stayed here

I can't remember it breaking the bank, but I was sharing a triple room so that might have cut the cost down.
I do remember it serving lovely food, breakfast was included in the price and we paid for our dinner one night and it was scrummy!!!
It's very central to most things esp the shops!!!:)
Hope you enjoy your trip.

We stayed at the Morgan - was a little bit too close to temple bar for my liking but hotel was nice. Sorry cant be more help but check out their website. x
I'm thinking about booking something in Dublin for DH and I for February next year (as a suprise for DH). It's both of our birthdays that month and Valentines Day as well.
I love the look of the Dylan Hotel too - just need to see if I can farm DD off onto my mother for the weekend. Having said that, in some ways I would like to take DD with us but I also think we should have some time by ourselves....not sure what to do for the best!
