Electric or Manual breastpump?
Hiya, I'm thinking of buying a breast pump in the next few weeks, and frankly I'm super-confused over all the different makes/varieties available. What would you ladies recommend, both in terms of electric or manual, and any particular brands that you've had success with?? Thanks, Lizzi xx

I have an electric Medela but wouldn't recommend you buy one until your baby is here and BF is a success for you. For me, it wasn't and the pump was only used for 2 weeks so really needs to go on eBay (ewwwwwwww, lol). If you are producing milk I'd guess it wouldn't really matter too much which pump you use. I would go for an electric one as obviously you just have to sit there/lie there (lol) as for the different brands, they are probably as quick as each other though I would say Avent as the teats fit straight on to the bottle with the pumped milk in (Medela are a pain in the butt and it doesn't come with teats!!)

I also have an electric Medela which has been totally invaluable. That said, I completely agree with Hels in terms of the lack of teats being a nuisance. If I had my time again I'd prob get an Avent one, and definitely electric! hth, munky

I agree with waiting until bubs is here before buying! I BF for 8 months and never even needed one, and on the other side of things, if your milk doesnt come in, as sometimes it doesnt it might be wasted. Good luck! xxxx
