Just after some advice
I dont want to drag up horrible memories for all of you, but I after a bit of advice. If Im am going to lose this baby (which is looking more likely day by day), what should I expect. Im bleeding today - not like a period, just blood when I wipe. Should I expect it to be more 'flowing'? When and if that is going to happen, do I go to A and E or is it simply a trip to the Doctors? Sorry ladies but Im so scared about this and as Im at home all day looking after my daughter, I want to have an idea of what to expect. She doesnt know Im pregnant as we wanted to wait until 12 weeks and I dont want any of it to frighten her (shes 8). Nicki xx

Hi Nicki, I'm really praying that you are not having a m/c and that you get a positive scan next week. I'll tell you my experience of my m/c but I think everyone is different. I started with light brown discharge and when I went for my first scan they said that there was no evidence of pregancy. They then give you a blood -*test*-('") and one again 48 hours later to see if your levels of HCG are falling indicating that a m/c is occuring. However having just got my head around that I wasn't pg - I was told that my levels were rising. Not doubling though so they thought it may be eptopic. After an internal scan they found 2 sacs and said they were measuring 5 weeks ( even though I thought I was 8 weeks) Because I had no heavy bleeding and my levels were rising I had to wait another week for a scan to see if they could see a yolk sac. A week later ... one yolk sac seen and sacs were growing so another week to wait. Eventually after numerous scans and weeks of torture waiting they said that they definately were abnormal and weren't growing in the way they should. ( in the mean time I think the bleeding had got worse and I had lost a large clot of something - sorry if TMI) I was given the option of waiting for nature to take its course, medical management which induces m/c or a D & C. I chose medical management which wasn't very pleasant but I was too scared of going to theatre! Sorry if its abit of a long story - feel free to PM me at any time and like I said I really hope that everything turns out well for you :hanginthere: Rachie xxxx

Hi Nicki - Firstly please try to stay positive hunny, I know its difficult but you don't want to drag yourself so low!!!! I did and I was at the point were I wouldn't speak to anyone, not even DH!!! Anyway, Mine was quite quick once it started! I was told when I was at 9weeks that the baby had died, but I didn't bleed or anything until I would have been about 11weeks! M/W didn't care either when I phoned and was never given the option of them intervening(SP?)! I went to bed with a towel on as light bleeding then I had the urge to pee so ran to the loo and everything came away, very quick, quite painful but not unbareable. Lots of clots and lots and lots of blood! Luckily didn't bleed anywhere else but the toilet (we had cream carpets everywhere at the time!) I ended up in hospital for 2-3night (cant remember exactly) as lost alot of blood. HTH in some way hunny :stickyvibes: :hanginthere: :stickyvibes:

Hi Niki, Like everyone else has said i am trying to stay positive for you. Mhen i had my m/c i was about 10 weeks and i started with some brown discharge then after 2 days of that there was light bleeding but was only there when i wiped. I had a scan where they told me that the baby wasn't the size of a 10 week baby and that he/she had stopped growing at about 8 1/2 weeks. They gave me some options of: - letting nature take its course - Taking a tablet & having a pessery (sp?) to speed up nature - you have to stay in hospital for this. - EVRPC - which is the medical intervention and they put you to sleep and make sure everything is taken away. After speaking to my doctor i chose an EVRPC but by this point i was bleeding quite heavily so i think that nature would have taken its course quite soon after that anyway. I was in for the afternoon and was able to go home that evening. When is your scan booked for? Do you have an Early pregnancy unit attached to your hospital? I would ring the maternuty unit at your hospital and see what they advise as a lot of people suggest against a&e. I am so sorry you are going throug hthis and i have everything crossed that things are going to be fine. xx

Hi Nikki I too am hoping this is just par for the course for you and is nothing to worry about. For me, I miscarried naturally between 11 and 12 weeks. I've known no pain like it (sorry to frighten you) but it resembled nothing like a period for me. I quite literally had abdominal contractions over several hours, mainly at night for some strange reason and was passing large clots/tissue over a period of 10 days. Too big to describe as a heavy period. I had little pre-warning aside some very tiny liver looking slivers of tissue upon wiping, maybe 48 hrs before...then wham. Once i had passed the largest clots it quite literally seemed to stop, give or take a bit of intermittent spotting for a day or 2 after (more like a natural period, light in colour). Should the same thing happen to me again, I would take a D&C or some form of intervention next time - the pain was too much to handle. Wishing you all the best - have you an appointment coming up with your GP? Maybe ask for a blood -*test*-('") or scan to confirm one way or the other? xx

hi, started to bleed lightly at about 6 weeks, after about two weeks of light bleeding it turned quite heavy, losing lots of clots but only after a couple of days. two days later it had stopped bleeding and was told that i had lost all the tissue myself after baby stopping growing at 5 weeks. no pian whatsoever, not even a niggle which i am grateful for. so in all it lasted about a monthand then it was all over. wishing you lots of luck love Tilly x

Hi Nicky Needless to say I am hoping all is well and your scan brings good news xxx I had a missed miscarriage - only picked up at my 12 week scan when I had a sac which measured right for my dates but the baby was no where to be seen having died around 4 weeks after conception. I opted to take thetablet to induce miscarriage and was told I only needed to go into hospital if it didn't 'start things off.' Nothing happened so two days later I returned to hospital and was given pessary (which they let me put in myself.) this induced 'contraction' like pains for which they gave me dia morphine and I stayed in hospital for most of the day until they were satisfied I had passed everything (drifting in and out of sleep with the drugs) HTH in some way but fingers tightly crossed it is all irrelevant for you xxx
