Hope no one minds me taking this on, but figure I’ll be around in this folder for a while yet so makes sense I guess and I really enjoy reading how everyone's doing!

Farewell and congratulations to Fayebird, Haley D, Nicky L and Chicky as they go off to the parents folder!

So how we all doing?

Next on the birthday list is Yolande! How’s the pain today, hope DH eventually got Reuben to sleep last night when he got in from work. Let us know how you get on at the hospital today.

Kerry Pk – how’s things? Have you picked your tens machine yet? Not long to go!!!

EmJ – so how was your first official day of maternity leave yesterday? Are you managing to chill out and put your feet up?

Kris – how was your GTT? Hope you’re ‘enjoying’ your last week of work before mat leave!

Rosi – glad your check up scan went better and hope you’re still managing to get some rest and relaxation.

Rubyru – how’s things? Any update from you.

Bump buddies Plum, Hels, April, Bliss, Annalice and Kim – how are the April/May/June baby boomers?! Hope the sickness is starting to become bearable for you all. Good luck to Annalice for the scan today – Bliss do you have your scan date yet?

As for me – I’m doing OK, think the sickness is starting to ease a little (I whisper that so as not to tempt fate!) and I’m definitely not feeling quite as tired. At 15 weeks today, I hope to be blooming very soon! My 20 week scan is on 14 December (when I’ll be 21 weeks!) so only 6 weeks to go. We’re going to have a surprise this time and not find out the flavour, I totally bullied DH into finding out last time and he really wants a surprise so I’m going with it and will try to quash my control freak tendencies!!

If I’ve missed anyone I’m sorry and please post so I can add you on next time!

Happy bumps all round!

Oh my god 14th Dec - thats not long to wait!! YAY - so excited - I love the 20 week scan - you get to see so much cute detail!! Gutted we don't get to find out the flavour yet tho!!

I can't resist finding out!!

I'm saying this in a whisper too but I think my sickness is easing a bit - theres much gagging on my toothbrush twice a day but now I rarely feel sick randomly in the day. Lets hope its definitely gone for you and goes away for everyone else V soon!!

xx

Thanks for taking this on, Kate! it is nice to have an update on how everyone is doing.

Well, at 15+3 (if you believe the sonographer) or 14+4 (if I believe my own charting) I am still suffering from nausea, though (shhhh) I think it might be easing a bit. I have at least discovered that fruit scones don't make me feel bleugh so I have one of those for breakfast. Still totally off tea, coffee, anything else other than water or (maybe) lemonade, and cooking smells make me feel awful. Still living on pasta and fish, with the occasional roast dinner thrown in for good measure. I'm forcing myself to eat fruit though (it's satsuma season, yay!) and vegetable soup for lunch, and I started making myself drink milk yesterday (with some nesquik to make it taste less milky) - I drank loads of milk when pg with Charlie. I still find that I feel worse in the evenings, and occasionally have to stop and breathe deeply to prevent myself from randomly throwing up if I cough or take my vitamin tablet. Occasionally the tiredness hits me, but that's mainly because I'm not sleeping well. I can feel baby moving around in there sometimes, if I sit hunched over, or sometimes baby will obviously "surface" and bounce off my tummy! lol! the doppler is a godsend, Charlie loves listening in to his baby's heartbeat. 15 week appt with midwife is next Weds, so I'll have to speak to her about the fact they've brought my dates forward. I also want to talk to her about the swine flu vaccine, and about the possibility of seeing an osteopath or chiropractor about my hip pain. Having done some research I am convinced that the hip pain and Charlie being an OP baby (back to back) were connected - Spinning Babies indicates that my pelvis might be out of alignment, and I do sit at a weird angle sometimes at my desk, so that's probably not helping.

Our 20 week scan is 5 weeks today (8th December, just before we go to Zurich), so I'll either be 20+3 or 19+4..... We hope to find out again what we're having (Charlie left us NO choice, lol! legs akimbo!) but will have to see if baby plays ball (so to speak!) The grandmas in particular are exceptionally keen to find out whether they can go out and start buying/knitting pink stuff! and my SIL is dying to know if she can dig out all my niece's stuff from the loft!

Anyway, enough from me! hope everyone else is doing well.

Hi all

Well done Kate for taking this on - great job!

Well my scan date is finally through, Monday 30th November, so a date to look forward to at last!

As you all know I've been feeling rotten rotten rotten for the past couple of weeks and ugggg, its becoming really draining. I'm in bed by 8pm most nights, and I just spend all day feeling queasy, sick and generally rubbish. I've decided to try acupuncture as I need to feel as if I'm doing everything possible to get rid of this horrible feeling, so I've got an appointment booked for tomorrow at midday. I'm not expecting miracles, but a brief bit of respite would be nice!

I've lost about half a stone in weight so far, and there's just nothing that really takes the edge of the nausea for me. Chewing gum can provide some relief, but that then makes your tummy feel empty which makes you feel even worse. I've tried ginger tea, ginger biscuits, crackers, sesame bars, fennel tea, peppermint tea, but nothing is really helping - arrrrrgggggghhhhhh!!

And I hate feeling like a little moaning mini, but I just feel so rotten!

But on a positive note, each day that passes is closer to that day when this sickness finally subsides, so that's a good thing.

I'm feeling much more positive about this pregnancy now though, I was quite scared when I first got my BFP, as I was really nervous about how I would cope with two little ones, but I'm really looking forward to it now.... especially knowing that I'll be looking after two WITHOUT feeling SICK all blinkin' day long!!!! Hooooorrrayyy!!

I'll let you know how the acupuncture goes.

Hope all you other bumpers are doing GOOD xx

8+2

I'm feeling ok just now. Sickness has gone as long as I don't leave it too long before snacks! Still feeling quite dizzy when I stand up suddenly but that's easier to live with than feeling sick all the time!

My 20 week scan is on 7th December and we don't get to find out the colour here so it has to be a surprise!!

The doctor's surgery phoned about my swine flu jab yesterday and I've refused it for now. Bit scary actually making the decision, still not sure if I've done the right thing or not!

Thanks Kate! Great to have Bumpwatch up and running again.

Wow April - that is really early to be feeling so many movements. so glad that you are beginning to feel slightly better. Yeh for fruit scones! I find the German Christmas pepper nuts are fabulous for calming my stomach.

Good luck Bliss with the Acupucture tomorrow! I had some with my first pregnancy but it was right at the end in order to prepare the body for childbirth. I really appreciated it - mainly though because it gave me a bit of quiet "me time". I really hope it works for you and that you feel a bit more normal before too long.

I'm feeling a lot better than last week, thank goodness. Still feeling occasional nausea but nowhere near as bad as it has been.
My maternity leave replacement started yesterday and I have about 3 weeks to show her the ropes. I have officially 4 - 5 weeks left but I still have a bit of remaining holiday/ overtime to take so I should be finnished a bit earlier.
I'm struggling with getting Liam up 3 flights of stairs everyday. He is refusing point blank to get higher than the second step from where he can reach the light switch and he just stands there playing with the switch while I try in vain to cajole him up the stairs.

We are getting closer to choosing names but still not settled on one of each. I'm still glad we are having a surprise though and this time I have no intuition at all as to which it will be.

Good luck and stickyvibes to all of you who are still waiting for your first scans. Lovely to hear all of your news!

Love & hugs, Rosi etc.

So glad lots of you are feeling better from MS. Bliss I really hope you start to feel better soon, I got such a shock when I suffered MS its so awful.

I was supposed to get my GTT results today but noone phoned, so I will chase it up tomorrow afternoon if I havn't heard anything. Hopefully no news means good news.

I am so so so happy to be in my last week at work, they have given me a nice relaxed timetable this week as they started my replacement on Monday, so at last they are not working me so hard. I really need this as I was just finding it too much.

As I said in Yolande's thread, I am so prone to meltdowns lately, today everyone pushed in front of me to get on the bus in the pouring rain, then the bus driver asked me to fold the stroller. Physically I just couldn't. Anyway, I was only going 3 stops but he kept insisting and I just started crying! I didn't fold it and he was ok after that (maybe he didn't realise until I said 'I can't, i'm 8 months pregnant' btw I have a HUGE bump!). Of course I couldn't stop crying, cue me being red eyed and blotchy faced and having to explain to everyone I knew that the bus driver made me cry. What a wuss!

Take care everyone! xx

Only just saw this thread now, after updating my own.

What??? How did that happen?? How on earth am I NEXT? I think I'm still living in some sort of time warp, because I've been too busy to sit down & think about the pregnancy a lot like I did last time, so I haven't realised how time has crept up on me. Someone asked me today how long I have left and when I said 4 weeks, her eyes widened. I think I only then realised that I'm almost due!

And yes, thankfully Tobias managed to settle Reuben when he got in last night. Phew! I just couldn't do it. I know that I bitch about him every now and then, but sometimes he really helps me out a lot here at home, so I guess I should be grateful.

Thanks for taking this on, Kate and hello to all fellow bumpers!

I'm on the 6 wk countdown now as I've started to feel like a cumbersome heffalump. I'm so glad I've finished work as I'm loving the lie-ins and mid-afternoon naps.
I've started listening to my natal hypnotherapy CD a few times a week so hopefully when the time comes my body will know what to do without being asked!
Still undecided about a tens machine. Some people swear by them but others say it doesn't really make a difference. Lloyds pharmacy do their own for £30 so I may end up getting one of theirs. It seems to do the same as the more expensive kind.
Squirtette seems to be so compact in there now and things can get quite uncomfortable at times when she moves. I've been trying to follow advice and sleep on my left side, but she seems to object to this and wriggles around uncontrollably. Sleeping has started to become a real issue :( so it is good that I can catch up during the day.

Kris-hope you enjoy your last week of school and that they don't make you do too much. I also hope you get the results you want from your GTT.

Yolande- wow 4 wks! Good luck.

Those with MS I can't say I know how this feels but I hope that it's soon over for you all.

EmJ- hope you're enjoying your maternity leave as much as I am.

W-Kat- Great to have a date for your next scan. Not finding out the flavour then? You've got more patience than me!

Kx

Hi all and thanks to Kate for doing this!!

Well, my first official maternity leave day is today and I'm desperately trying to find the nursery (which is a tip!), transfer stuff to our new bedroom furniture and find some nice wellies that will arrived before we go to Center Parcs on Monday (after DH found a mouse had nested in mine!!!) Can't believe how disorganised I feel this time round compared to being PG with Elliot, but then I suppose I didn't have an Elliot to look after last time!

Anyway, after all the faff with glucose in my urine sample and not being able to have a GTT until 17th November (when I'll already be 35 weeks!) I took Pompeygirl's advice yesterday and picked up a glucose monitor. Today's results have really helped to convince me that I don't have a problem so I reckon it's money well spent if it helps me relax a bit! My glucose levels after 10 hours without food (i.e. before breakfast) were 4.5mmol/L going up to 6.6mmol/L an hour after breakfast and back down to 4.6mmol/L 2 hours after. All of which are well within the normal ranges so fingers crossed eh?!

I would say no news is good news Kris as I was told they wouldn't bother contacting me if everything was normal - Id just find out at my next routine MW appointment. I'm sure if there was a problem, you would have been contacted ASAP!

Can't believe how quickly Christmas is coming round now it's November. I phoned my DH at work the other day and went "OMG, WE'RE HAVING A BABY NEXT MONTH!!!!" Arghhh!

Em xXx
