Hiya,
Remember what i went through....so much bleeding i truely thought the IVf had failed and it was a BFN. I had bleeding right through my pregnancy!!
Keep resting lots and what helped me lots was (funny but true!) not straining at all when poo-ing. Take your time!!!

Tis funny you should say that Lisa! I had a massive bleed at about 22 weeks with Toby, and it happened when I was VERY constipated one evening and obviously strained way too hard. Bit embarrassing to admit it, but its a good tip to give to others that are pg at the moment. _________________ bliss xx

Thanks for thinking of me and please keep the coming.
I was in London, at our work offices, yesterday and had an awful journey home so was absolutely shattered by the time I got in. The rain was so heavy we were driving at 40mph on the motorway and visibility was so poor - like driving through fog. So sorry I didn't get to update this last night.
My results were 579 whatevers of hcg (not sure what unit they use). She said this indicates day 34. She said I shouldn't worry too much about this figure as it's not useful until we have the 2nd figure. She was very nice (different GP to the one I saw - who is my usual v. nice one) and said I don't have to wait a week, they should see the number double after 48hrs so I can go in on Monday for the 2nd blood test and know on Tuesday. She said that she has to have a reading above 2000 to scan - so I'm hoping that once the results are in she will give me a scan for the following week.
I have longer than average cycles anyway, so didn't think I was quite 6wks today, but I'm going to leave it all til the dating scan because the doctors will go by LMP unti then too.
Just incase anyone understands how it all works, these are my facts:
* last 3 af cycles have been 31, 37, 34 days.
* LMP was 26 September
* we only dtd 10-11 October due to work trips and family being here (so I must've conceived around then)
* I am on cd 43 today, bloods were taken on cd 41.
Do you think my reading sounds ok with the above info?
Of course I googled and found this useful info on hcg levels, which puts me in the 5wk bracket: http://www.americanpregnancy.org/duringpregnancy/hcglevels.html
Edited to add: I still have sore boobs and my symptoms seem to have changed from no appetite to an insatiable appetite, though I can still only eat pretty bland things like creme crackers and digestive biscuits, toast etc. I don't feel like anything sweet at all, not even fruit which I usually love. Hope this is a good sign! _________________ - p i X i e - |

Get as much rest as you can, and goodluck for Monday. Long cycles make all the difference, what day have you worked out you are on? I always knew my due date long before the GP who based in on LMP which is never relevant in my case.

Hi all
Bleeding was heaviest today, but I've had the 2nd bloods and have to wait until tomorrow afternoon. It has stopped again now and I'm not having any pain, so I'm hoping it's something else and our little embie is a fighter!
The GP said I should have bloods taken in a week's time again just to check and keep monitoring the situation. He also said it would be a good idea to scan if the results come back positive, so they can see if they can see what's going on. But as I'm still only really 5+? wks in gestation I think they'll wait a week or two before scanning me.
Kris - I was on cd41 when they said blood levels showed cd34. My cycles vary from 30-37 or sometimes more, which averages out at 34. So I figured they base their readings on 28 day cycles which gives me 6 days to play with. 34 + 6 = 40 days, so me being on 41 was fine. The nurse who took my bloods today said the level sounded fine, and this 2nd one is most important.
Thanks for all your support and please keep the positive thoughts coming - I need them!!! _________________ - p i X i e - |
